S Korea’s GS Caltex runs Yeosu No 2 aromatics unit at near 100%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s GS Caltex is running its No 2 aromatics facility in Yeosu at close to full capacity on Friday, after the unit was restarted early in the week from a month-long maintenance, a source close to the company said.

The aromatics unit, which includes a reformer and a paraxylene (PX) unit, resumed operations on 16 April after a scheduled shutdown from 16 March, the source said.

GS Caltex's No 2 aromatics facility in Yeosu can produce 400,000 tonnes/year of PX; 200,000 tonnes/year of benzene and 800,000 tonnes/year of mixed xylenes.
