Japan March MMA inventory falls 5% from February; output up 1%

BRISBANE (ICIS)--Japan’s methyl methacrylate (MMA) inventory in March decreased to 32,833 tonnes, down by 5% from the previous month, official data showed on Friday.

Its MMA output, on the other hand, rose to 38,515 tonnes in March, higher by 193 tonnes or 1% from February, according to the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association (JPCA).

Japan can produce 554,000 tonnes/year of MMA.

In the week ended 12 April, MMA prices for iso-tank cargoes of 20-300 tonnes were at $2,100-2,130/tonne (€1,617-1,640 /tonne) CFR (cost and freight) SE (southeast) Asia, $20/tonne lower from the previous week, according to ICIS.
