SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics is currently operating its 200,000 tonne/year 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) unit and 400,000 tonne/year plasticizer unit in Mailiao at reduced run rates, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.
The producer had recently lowered the operating rates for the 2-EH and plasticizer plants to around 80% capacity, the source said, but did not elaborate on the exact date.
“The reduction of the run rates [for both units] are partly attributed to weak market conditions and squeezed margins,” the source added.
