HOUSTON (ICIS)--Sources said on Friday that US chemical producer Williams restarted its Geismar cracker in Louisiana on Thursday after a weeklong outage.
Sources said that the cracker was shut down on 11 April, although no reasons were given.
Information was also unavailable from government environmental agencies. Attempts to reach the company for confirmation were unsuccessful.
The company has a planned shutdown of the 612,000 tonne/year ethylene cracker in May for 29 days in order to expand its capacity to 885,000 tonnes/year.
