SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hainan-based Handi Sunshine Petrochemical is planning to start up its 500,000 tonne/year lube plant at Yangpu in Hainan province in the second half of this year, a company source said on Monday.
The company will supply base oils feedstock for lube production from its own 300,000 tonne/year Group II plant at the same site, according to the source.
Handi Sunshine Petrochemical also plans to increase its base oil capacity by 1.5m tonnes/year to 1.8m tonnes/year in two phases during 2013-2015, he added.
