HOUSTON (ICIS)--DuPont’s US vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) plant in Texas that shut down after problems developed following a March turnaround has restarted and is taking orders again, sources said on Monday.
Sources close to the 335,000 tonnes/year plant in LaPorte said it began operating last Wednesday. The unit has low inventories, but it is taking orders again, sources said.
A DuPont spokesman last week said the company did not comment on plant operations.
Major US VAM producers include Celanese, DuPont, Dow and LyondellBasell.
