China’s PE, PP March imports increase by 53.28% month on month

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s import volumes of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) in March rose by 53.28% month on month to 1.14m tonnes, China Customs data showed on Wednesday.

Compared with the same period last year, March’s PP and PE import volumes rose by 10.2%, the official data showed.

The total volume of PP imports in March were at 389,600 tonnes, a 29.54% increase month on month and a decrease of 4.32% from the same period a year ago, according to China Customs.

The country’s PE imports stood at 749,100 tonnes in March, a 69.43% increase from the previous month and an increase of 19.63% compared with the same period last year.
