SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhejiang Huachen Energy has achieved on-spec production at its 55,000 tonne/year butanediol (BDO) unit at Pinghu in eastern Zhejiang province on 21 April, a company source said on Wednesday.
However, sales have not started yet, the source said. The plant is operating smoothly, the source added, without commenting on the exact operating rate.
China’s domestic BDO prices fell by yuan (CNY) 100-300/tonne ($16-49/tonne) to CNY13800-14100/tonne DEL on 23 April on weak demand, according to ICIS.
