SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Air Liquide’s group revenue fell by 2.1% year on year to €3.70bn ($4.81bn) in the first quarter of this year, weighed by the negative impact of currency exchange rates and natural gas price fluctuations.
Excluding the impact of currency and natural gas prices, the company’s group revenue was up by 0.2% in January-March 2013, the French industrial gases firm said in a statement.
“Barring a degradation of the environment, Air Liquide is confident in its ability to deliver another year of net profit growth in 2013,” said CEO Benoit Potier.
Air Liquide’s net profit rose by 4.9% year on year to €1.60bn in 2012.
