MOVES: Kirby's Pyne to step down as CEO in 2014, remain chairman

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Kirby’s top executive, Joe Pyne, said on Thursday that he will step down as CEO in early 2014, to be replaced by the barge operator’s current chief financial officer, David Grzebinski.

Pyne, who has served as Kirby’s chief executive since 1995, said he will remain as chairman of the board.

The announcement came in an earnings conference call. Kirby’s Q1 2013 net earnings increased more than 11% to $56.75m (€43.70m), compared with $50.90m in the same period of 2012.

Based in Houston, Kirby is the nation’s largest domestic tank barge operator.
