SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yisheng Petrochemical has shut down its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) units in Ningbo as planned, a source close to the company said on Friday.
Its 650,000 tonne/year No 1 unit has been shut since mid-February. Its 650,000 tonne/year No 2 unit and 2.2m tonne/year No 3 unit was shut down on 26 April, the source added.
The No 2 unit will be restarted in early May for less than one week, while its No 3 unit will be shut for 10 days, the source added. There is no specific restart date set for the No 1 unit.
The shutdowns are not expected to have an impact on PTA supply, because Yisheng Petrochemical has some inventory left, the source said.
The company is keeping its 2m tonne/year unit in Hainan shut without a specific restart date, the source added.
