Singapore's PCS on track to shut No 1 aromatics unit in June

Singapore (ICIS)--The Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore (PCS) is on track to shut its No 1 aromatics facility at Ayer Merbau in Jurong Island for scheduled turnaround in early June, a company source said on Friday.

“The shutdown will be around 1 June for about 45 days. The restart is estimated to be sometime in mid-July,” the source said.

The aromatics facility can produce 100,000 tonnes/year of benzene; 50,000 tonnes/year of toluene; and 28,000 tonnes/year of solvent xylene (SX).
