Japan's KH Neochem restarts Yokkaichi butac unit after overhaul

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s KH Neochem has restarted its 40,000 tonne/year butyl acetate (butac) plant at Yokkaichi in Mie prefecture after completing scheduled maintenance, a company official said on Tuesday.

“The plant was restarted this week, and full operating rate will be reached in a about a week’s time,” the official said.

“Going forward, we will continuously monitor the market situation and adjust the [plant’s] operating rate accordingly,” the official added.

The plant was taken off line in mid-March to undergo a turnaround.
