OCI to spend $100m on debottlenecking Texas methanol unit

HOUSTON (ICIS)--OCI will spend $100m (€77m) on a debottlenecking project at its Texas methanol plant that will add 25% more capacity to the unit, the company said on Tuesday.

The project will raise the Beaumont methanol plant’s capacity to 875,000 tonnes/year when completed in the second half of 2014, the company said in a release.

OCI said the debottlenecking project will also increase the plant’s ammonia capacity by 15% to 292,000 tonnes/year.
