Three US producers settle May BD contract at 79 cents/lb

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Three of the US butadiene (BD) producers who account for about 85% of the market have settled the May contract price at 79 cents/lb ($1,742/tonne, €1,324/tonne), sources said.

The May contract price for the three market participants is down 6% from their April contract price of 84 cents/lb.

A fourth BD producer, which accounts for about 15% of the market, has yet to settle its May contract price. Sources said the fourth producer is deciding between 81 cents/lb and 85 cents/lb.
