HOUSTON (ICIS)--KBR announced on Tuesday it has been selected to provide construction services for nylon producer INVISTA's plant in Orange, Texas.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
In 2012, INVISTA announced it was investing more than $100m (€77m) into the Orange plant over the next 18 months and had selected the site as the initial location to install its advanced adiponitrile technology. Officials at the time estimated the facility would be at full capacity by mid-2014.
“KBR is fully committed to supporting our client’s objective for the implementation of this new technology,” said Ivor Harrington, KBR Services group president. “We look forward to delivering superior performance on this milestone project and building on the valuable relationship with INVISTA.”
Under the contract, KBR will provided construction service for the mechanical and electrical aspects of the facility, equipment settings, structural steel and instrumentation for INVISTA.
