US Q1 BD production, inventories rise year on year – AFPM

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butadiene (BD) production and inventories were both higher in the first quarter of 2013 compared with a year ago, according to data released Tuesday by the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) on Tuesday.

US BD production in the first quarter was 799.8m lb (362,800), 4% higher than production of 767.2m lb a year ago. First quarter BD inventories also rose by 49% to 133.2m lb from 89.4m lb a year ago.

Major US BD producers include ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Shell and TPC Group.
