SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Kharg Petrochemical is currently running its 660,000 tonne/year natural gas-based methanol plant at full capacity after increasing its operating rates in April, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant was operating at 80% capacity in March, because there was limited supply of feedstock natural gas, the source added.
Kharg Petrochemical exports its methanol output to China and India.
Other methanol producers in the Middle East include SABIC and Oman Methanol Co.
