EU 2012 IPA imports increase by 0.6% year on year

LONDON (ICIS)--Imports of isopropanol (IPA) into the EU27 countries rose 0.6% year on year in 2012, according to offical data from statistics agency Eurostat.

The US continued to be the largest importer of IPA to the EU, with Norway seeing the largest jump in imported volumes, exporting 234 tonnes of IPA into the EU in 2012, compared to 15 tonnes the previous year.. Russia saw the largest drop in imports to the EU, reducing cargoes into the region by 89%.

In terms of EU exports of IPA, volumes sent out of the region to the top six non-EU countries increased 33% year on year, with exports to Brazil jumping from 52 tonnes in 2011 to 5,308 tonnes in 2012.
