EU MEK imports increase 36% year on year

LONDON (ICIS)--Imports of methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) into the EU 27 countries rose 36% year on year, according to data from statistics agency Eurostat.

China expoted the largest volumes of the material into the EU, but Taiwan increased its exports to the region the most, almost quadrupling its total volumes in 2012.

In terms of exports, the US continued to receive the highest volumes of MEK from the EU, with Turkey seeing the largest reduction in exported material from the region, dropping 21% year on year.
