EU MIBK exports jump 90% year on year

LONDON (ICIS)--Exports of methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) from the EU 27 to the top five importing countries rose 90% year on year, according to data from statistics agency Eurostat.

Exports to India, the largest export market for European Union-produced MIBK, more than doubled in 2012. South Korea, which did not take any imports of MIBK from the EU in 2011, imported 525 tonnes of MIBK last year.

In terms of imports, South Africa was the largest importer of product into the EU despite a 5% drop year on year. Israel saw the largest increase in imports into the EU, rising by 69%.
