LONDON (ICIS)--European cyclohexane (CX) prompt consumption is increasing because of buying interest for prompt material in the US, buyers and sellers said on Friday.
Requests for European material from the US have sharply increased this week, which is believed to be linked to production problems in the region.
The additional consumption is likely to cause short-term tight supply in Europe, sources said.
Nevertheless, the extra buying interest is only expected to last a few weeks, and is only affecting prompt deliveries. European downstream demand remains low because of poor macroeconomic conditions, and European CX supply and demand is expected to re-balance before the end of May.
