HOUSTON (ICIS)--May polyvinyl chloride (PVC) domestic prices in Colombia fell by $110/tonne (€85/tonne) from April, driven by market dynamics in South America and other global regions, sources said on Friday.
Export offers from Colombia for May shipment have also emerged at prices lower by $100/tonne from April.
Domestic prices for pipe-grade PVC in Colombia are assessed by ICIS at $1,200/tonne DEL (delivered).
Colombian and Latin American markets were gauged as active despite the mid-week Labour Day holiday, according to sources.
In other countries in Latin America, domestic and export prices have settled down or at a rollover for May, sources said.
PVC prices have rolled over in Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela, but weakened in Colombia, Mexico and along the Pacific coast of South America, according to regional participants.
Industry sources are projecting continued moderate demand throughout Latin America.
PVC producers in Latin America are Mexichem, Braskem and Solvay.
