SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jilin Petrochemical are operating its No 3 and No 4 acrylonitrile (ACN) units at 80% capacity after restarting them on 5 May at Jilin city in Jilin province, a company source confirmed on Monday.

The No 3 and No 4 units, with a capacity of 120,000 tonnes/year each, were shut on 19 April for maintenance.

Jilin Petrochemical has four ACN units at the same site. Its No 1 and No 2 ACN units have a capacity of 106,000 tonnes/year each.

The No 2 ACN unit is currently undergoing maintenance after it was shut down unexpectedly in the evening of 1 May, because of technical issues.

Maintenance was brought forward as a result of the technical issues, the source said.

The unit was previously scheduled for maintenance only after the No 3 and No 4 units have come on stream.

The No 1 ACN unit has remained off line since June last year.
