SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinochem Shandong Fertilizer shut its 700,000 tonne/year nitrogen phosphorus potassium (NPK) unit at Linyi in Shandong province on 4 May for a 10-day maintenance because of weak demand, a company source said on Monday.

“We shut down the plant mainly due to the soft downstream demand, the source added.

The producer will use its existing inventories to supply the market during the shutdown period, the source said.

“The shutdown of the NPK plant is unlikely to have a significant impact on spot prices,” the source added.
