TAIPEI (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Tuntex Petrochemical expects to shut its 440,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit at Taoyuan for maintenance on 13 May, a company source said on Monday.
The planned shutdown is expected to last for 10 days, the source said.
Tuntex usually conducts two maintenance shutdowns at the unit every year. One is around May for minor maintenance, while the other is at the end of the year for a month-long turnaround, the source said.
“We will have no cargoes available for export in May because of the shutdown,” the source said.
