HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ammonia imports in March 2013 rose 23% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.
US ammonia increased to 642,302 tonnes in March from 522,621 tonnes in March 2012. Imports climbed in March mainly because of increased product from the Ukraine.
March imports increased from 449,735 tonnes in February 2013.
Trinidad & Tobago at 402,053 tonnes was the major source of US ammonia imports, followed by Canada at 107,897 tonnes, and Ukraine at 60,947 tonnes.
Other sources included Russia, Indonesia and Colombia.
