HOUSTON (ICIS)--US urea imports in March 2013 were up 35% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.
Urea imports rose to 880,408 tonnes in March from 650,653 tonnes in March 2012. Imports rose in March mainly because of increased product from China
March imports were increased from 640,239 tonnes in February 2013.
Indonesia at 150,832 tonnes was the major source of US urea imports, followed by Oman at 113,082 tonnes and China at 106,600 tonnes.
Other sources included Qatar, Canada and Kuwait.
