HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) in March decreased 79% compared with the same month a year ago, according to data released on Monday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Exports decreased to 189 tonnes in March this year from 909 tonnes in March 2012.
Canada was the top destination, taking 33% of all material shipped out of the US. Other major destinations included Mexico, Venezuela, Australia and the Dominican Republic.
US imports fell by 48% in March compared with the same month a year ago, the ITC said, with South Africa and Korea the sole sources.
Imports decreased to 415 tonnes in March this year from 800 tonnes in March 2012.
