TAIPEI (ICIS)--South Korea’s GS Caltex shut operations at all its refinery and petrochemical complex in Yeosu on Wednesday morning because of a power failure, a company source said.

The company has two reformers, three paraxylene (PX) units, a toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit and a selective TDP (STDP) unit at the site.

GS Caltex plans to restart feeding crude to the refinery this afternoon, the source said, but the aromatics facilities would take about three to four days to resume normal operations, the source said.

The company is one of the major benzene producers in South Korea.
