SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China National Bluestar has restarted its 60,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) plant in Shanghai early this week, said a source close to the company.
The plant was previously shut in August 2012 for maintenance and has remained idle since amid subdued demand.
The plant’s capacity was previously given as 40,000 tonnes/year.
POM is an engineering plastic used in precision parts that require strength and low friction and can withstand a wide range of temperatures. Its main applications are in the automotive and electrical sectors.
