Initial US April styrene contracts down on weak feedstocks, demand

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Initial April styrene contracts have emerged this week at declines of 1.75-3.00 cents/lb ($39-66/tonne) from March, trade participants said on Wednesday.

The initial April declines were in line with market expectations, following a weaker feedstock April benzene contract price and a lack of price increase initiatives from producers.

The declines were also supported by weak demand in the styrene market.

April styrene contracts are expected to be finalised by Friday.

March styrene contracts were settled at 79.50-83.50 cents/lb FOB (free on board).
