HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based DuPont and Morocco-based phosphate producer OCP have created a joint venture that will provide consulting as well as safety and environmental training to companies in Africa, the companies said on Wednesday.
The joint venture will be called DuPont OCP Operations Consulting, and each company will have a 50% stake, they said.
The venture will involve DuPont Sustainable Solutions, which the company created in 2010 by combining its training and consulting units under one business.
"This new partnership underscores the importance of collaboration," according to a statement by James Weigand, president of DuPont Sustainable Solutions.
"It will enable DSS to better meet local needs by providing world-class consulting and training services to industries in Morocco and key developing regional markets," he said. "OCP's strong regional presence and long-term growth strategy makes them an ideal partner for us to achieve world-class safety performance and add value to the DuPont OCP Operations Consulting offerings."
