AkzoNobel runs ethanolamines unit at more than 80% capacity

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--AkzoNobel is running its 80,000 tonne/year ethanolamines plant at Ningbo in Zhejiang, China, at more than 80% capacity, a source close to the company said.

The plant resumed production on schedule at the end of April, after being shut since early April for a turnaround, market sources said.

Sales of the company’s product was good after they resumed production, traders said.

On 8 May, domestic prices rose by around yuan (CNY) 100-400/tonne ($16-65/tonne) EXWH (ex-warehouse) week on week according to ICIS.

Monoethanolamine price was at CNY11,200-11,500/tonne EXWH, diethanolamine price was at CNY11,200-11,600/tonne EXWH while triethanolamine price was at CNY12,200-12,500/tonne EXWH, according to ICIS on 8 May.
