TAIPEI (ICIS)--SABIC, Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co and Sadara Chemical Co’s joint venture, a 330,000 tonnes/year n-butanol (NBA) plant located in Saudi Arabia, is on schedule to start up in 2015, a source familiar with the matter said on Thursday.
The NBA plant will be located at Tasnee Petrochemicals Complex (Tasnee) in Jubail Industrial City and will be operated by Tasnee, the source said.
“It is scheduled to come on stream in the first half of 2015,” the source said.
Around 110,000 tonnes/year of the output, equivalent to around 33% of total capacity, will be used for captive usage, the source added.
