TAIPEI (ICIS)--China’s Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry Group could start up its 600,000 tonne/year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in Tianjin slightly earlier than expected, in September this year, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
The unit, China’s first PDH facility, was initially scheduled to come on stream in the fourth quarter of this year.
Propylene from the PDH facility is expected to be sold to subsidiary Tianjin Soda Plant, as well as Tianjin Dagu Chemical, the source said, adding that there would also be some left over for spot market sales.
