HOUSTON (ICIS)--US petrochemical producer Occidental Vinyls experienced an incinerator trip at its facility in Deer Park, Texas early Wednesday, releasing 100 lb of chloroform, 100 lb of ethylene dichloride (EDC) and 1 lb of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), according to a filing with the National Response Center.
According to the filing, the incident was discovered at 02:18 local time. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the incident was unknown, the filing states.
