SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Haohua Yuhang Chemical plans to restart its 440,000 dry metric tonne (dmt)/year caustic soda plant at Qinyang in Henan province on 12 May after shutting it for maintenance on 6 May, a company source said on Friday.

Meanwhile, the producer is running its 100,000 dmt/year caustic soda plant at Jiaozuo in Henan province at full capacity, according to the source.

Haohua Yuhang’s offers of 32% liquid membrane caustic soda were yuan (CNY) 2,250/dmt ($367/dmt) and at CNY2,350/dmt for 48% liquid membrane caustic soda on 10 May, up by CNY100/dmt from the same period a month earlier, according to data from Chemease, an ICIS service in China.

Domestic caustic soda prices in Henan have increased as a result of a series of plant turnarounds in the region, a market source said.

Prices of 32% liquid membrane caustic soda in Henan province were assessed at CNY2,200/dmt on 9 May, up by CNY100/dmt from prices on 10 April, Chemease data shows.
