SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Xiyang Fertilizer Industry plans to shut its 500,000 tonne/year nitrogen phosphorus potassium (NPK) unit in Liaoning province, northeast China, in early June for maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The shutdown will last 30 days, according to the source.

The peak demand season in northeast China is typically in the first half of the year, the source said, adding that the producer expects downstream demand to be weak during the scheduled shutdown period.
