SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Wison Offshore & Marine has been awarded a contract to supply key modularised components for the construction of a major refinery project in Venezuela, the Wison Group subsidiary said in a news release on Monday.
The project is known as the Venezuela Puerto La Cruz refinery deep conversion project. The construction contract was awarded to Wison Offshore & Marine by Hyundai-Wison following a competitive bid.
Hyundai-Wison is serving as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the project under a prime contract with the refinery owner, Petroleos De Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA).
Wison Offshore & Marine will begin construction of the project, which will include pipe racks and equipment modules totaling approximately 26,000 tonnes, at its Chinese fabrication facilities in August, the company said in the news release.
Under the agreement, Wison Offshore & Marine will be responsible for the fabrication design of the steel structures, material procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and loading-out, while Hyundai-Wison will provide the pipeline, equipment and instrumentation, according to the news release.
Wison Offshore & Marine is the upstream oil and gas division of the Wison Group. The company’s services cover the full life cycle of project delivery, from facility design and engineering, to project management, construction, commissioning and operations.
Hyundai-Wison is a consortium of Hyundai Engineering & Construction (HDEC), Hyundai Engineering Co (HEC) and Wison Engineering.
