SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s GS Caltex is running its aromatics facilities in Yeosu at 100% capacity after a brief outage on 8 May because of a power trip, a company source said on Tuesday.

However, the source did not state when the full operating rate was achieved.

“Our [final] benzene production loss [during the outage] was at 5,000 tonnes only,” the source said.

The company has two reformers, three paraxylene (PX) units, a toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit and a selective TDP (STDP) unit at the Yeosu site.

The TDP facility was idle prior to the outage and remains shut, the source said.
