Japan's ethylene production falls 2% month on month in April

TOKYO (ICIS)-- Japan’s production of ethylene decreased by 2% month on month to 545,000 tonnes in April, a preliminary report by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed on Tuesday.

This is a 17% increase from the same period a year earlier, the official data showed.

No naphtha crackers were shut for scheduled maintenance in April or March, based on the data.

Two crackers were shut for turnarounds in April 2012, the data showed.
