TEHRAN (ICIS)--Lorestan Petrochemical’s 300,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant in Khorramabad, Iran, is expected to start up by the end of this year, a senior official at Lorestan’s parent company, Bakhtar Petrochemical Co, said on Tuesday.

“The project has achieved 87% completion,” Davood Reza Rabbani, managing director of Bakhtar Petrochemical, said on the sidelines of the 10th Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF).

Ethylene feedstock for the LLDPE plant will be sourced from Kavian Petrochemical’s new cracker at Assaluyeh, which is already operational, Rabbani said.

The two-day IPF conference ends on Tuesday.
