US jet fuel consumption gains 10.3%, inventories lose 3%

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Higher US jet fuel consumption rates led to a drop in inventories for the week ended 10 May, a government agency’s report showed on Wednesday.

Jet fuel consumption rates gained 151,000 bbl/day to 1.623m bbl/day, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.

The increase in consumption rates led to a drop in inventories for the same week.

Jet fuel stockpiles lost 1.2m bbl to 39.1m bbl.

Production rates also dropped, shedding 86,000 bbl/day to move to a rate of 1.516m bbl/day.

US refinery utilisation rates gained one percentage point to 88%.
