HOUSTON (ICIS)--US petrochemical producer Axiall released an unknown amount of ethylene dichloride (EDC) at its chlor-alkali facility in Westlake, Louisiana, according to a filing with the National Response Center.
According to the filing, a bypass around a vent line opened at 9:35 local time (14:35 GMT) on Tuesday, allowing the EDC to escape. The cause of the incident is under investigation, the filing states.
