LONDON (ICIS)--The EU imported 57% less bisphenol A (BPA) in January 2013 from the rest of the world than in the same month last year, Eurostat data showed on Friday.

During the same period, exports to the rest of the world increased by 74%.

In February, BPA imports were up by 13% year on year, while exports increased by 303% year on year, data showed.

On a month on month basis, imports in February 2013 were up 71%, while exports dropped by 38%.

Exports increased because demand in Europe was subdued and domestic sellers were seeking to offload stocks overseas.
