GUANGZHOU (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia’s SABIC plans to start up its new 420,000 tonne/year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant at Yanbu at the end of 2013, SABIC’s vice president for manufacturing (Yanbu), Awadh M. Al-Maker said on Monday.
The plant was originally expected to start up by the end of first-quarter 2013.
He did not give a reason for the deferred start-up.
He was speaking at the sidelines of Chinaplas, a four-day exhibition which started on 20 May.
SABIC currently operates a 330,000 tonne/year PET plant at Yanbu.
