HOUSTON (ICIS)--PPG Industries has completed the acquisition of certain assets of US aerospace coatings firm Deft, the US-based coatings and specialty products firm said on Monday.
The acquisition was announced in April, and financial terms were not disclosed.
“Deft’s waterborne and chrome-free technologies complement PPG’s existing coatings capabilities, particularly in the aerospace industry, and support PPG’s ongoing commitment to sustainability,” said Barry Gillespie, PPG vice president of aerospace.
“With the acquisition of Deft, we are now able to offer an even broader portfolio of innovative coatings that benefit our customers and reduce the impact on the environment,” he said.
Based in Irvine, California, Deft produces structural primers and military topcoats for the North American aviation industry, as well as coatings used in the architectural and industrial markets.
