GUANGZHOU (ICIS)--South Korea’s SK Energy plans to start commercial production at its new metallocene linear low density (MLLDPE)/elastomer/plastomer swing plant in Ulsan, South Korea in April 2014, a company source said on Tuesday.

The 200,000 tonne/year plant can produce octane-based MLLDPE, polyolefin elastomer (POE) and polyolefin plastomer (POP), the source said at the sidelines of Chinaplas.

The new plant was scheduled to start trial production at the end of this year, he added.

Chinaplas, Asia’s largest plastics raw material and machinery exhibition, runs on 20-23 May.
