SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Xintai Liaherd Chemical has shut down its 30,000 tonne/year melamine line for a turnaround at its Zibo plant in Shandong province, a company official said on Tuesday.

The 20-day annual maintenance started on 18 May and will continue until early June. The exact date of the restart is yet to be finalised.

A 40,000 tonne/year melamine line, also at its Zibo plant, is currently undergoing testing to achieve on-spec production.

“Spot supplies are limited,” according to the official.

With the new 40,000 tonne/year line, Shandong Xintai Liaherd Chemical total melamine capacity has increased to 100,000 tonnes/year.
